Ten months before the start of glasstec 2016, International Trade Fair for Glass Production, Processing and Products, exhibitor registrations are in full swing. After the official registration deadline passed, stand space allocation in the exhibition halls has started. Registrations are still accepted online at but space is very much in demand and goes quickly. A special feature at glasstec 2016 will again be the North American Pavilion, organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America (MDNA) and co-sponsored by the National Glass Association (NGA). To reserve exhibit space within the North American Pavilion, contact Messe Düsseldorf North America at (312) 781-5180. glasstec will be held from September 20 – 23, 2016 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

As the world’s No. 1 trade fair for the glass sector, glasstec will cover the complete value chain for glass with a unique range of renowned companies. At the last staging in 2014, more than 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries presented their products to about 43,000 international visitors. A comprehensive ancillary program consisting of special shows and conferences will complement the exhibitors’ presentations.

Dr. Bernd-Holger Zippe, Managing Partner of Zippe GmbH and Chairman of the VDMA Forum Glass Technology, underlined the importance of glasstec as a leading global trade fair: “glasstec is a reflection of the industry’s innovative power. The fact that everyone shows their top innovations here just underscores its significance.”

“As the umbrella organization of the German glass industry and conceptual sponsor of glasstec we are pleased to be a part of glasstec again in 2016. For many years the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry (BV Glas) has supported glasstec since it is the leading international trade fair of the sector and the ideal platform for the high-tech material that is glass with its forward-looking innovations,” added Dr. Johann Overath, Director General of the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry.

According to Stefan Kieckhöfel, General Manager of the Federal Association of the German Glazier Trade (BIV), glasstec ranks very high for skilled crafts: “The unique diversity of glass in the age of the new “smart” glass types combined with know-how, applications, continuous education, ideas and practice is without par worldwide. Especially in view of the looming re-positioning of glaziers in the glass sector, glasstec 2016 serves as an indicator, source of ideas and a location determinator at the same time.”

A highlight at the trade fair will again be the Special Show “glass technology live” – once more organized by Stefan Behling, Senior Executive Partner at Foster & Partners in London and the team of the IBK 2 of Stuttgart University. It will showcase spectacular exhibits, innovative products and pioneering solutions for the next three to five years. The focus will be on free-form, ultra-thin, solid and informative glass. Participation in the accompanying symposia will be free of charge for all visitors.

Other planned special areas will include the “Zentrum Handwerk/Crafts Center” with “Craft Live”, the Professional Center Glass + Façade as well as the “glass art” exhibition.
