25TH GLASSTEC WITH STRONG EXHIBITOR PARTICIPATION

The 25th glasstec, International Trade Fair for Glass Production, Processing and Products, will celebrate its special anniversary with high exhibitor participation and new ancillary program events. Four months before the start of the event, registrations for exhibition space are already exceeding the total of the 2016 staging, approaching the record figures of 2008. “All leading international companies in the industry have confirmed their participation in glasstec 2018. The visitors and exhibitors will experience an anniversary with many great innovations,” said Birgit Horn, Director of glasstec. The organizers are expecting more than 1,200 exhibitors from over 50 countries to participate in glasstec from October 23 – 26, 2018 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Craft LIVE: Participate and make new discoveries
The Craft Center invites visitors to participate hands-on. Its central focus will be the stand of the Federal Association of the German Glazing Trade in Hall 9. The same hall will also host the special exhibition Craft LIVE on the subject of “Finishing Glass: from the Warehouse to the End Product”. At various practically oriented stations, which illustrate the entire process chain, visitors from the glass processing trade learn which requirements, processes and products facilitate the processing and transport of glass. Here, the glass processing trade is invited to try out tools and materials. Another feature at the Crafts Center will be a special exhibition “Glass Art”. The spectrum of exhibiting artists from internationally renowned galleries will range from glassware and sculptures to glass paintings.

New competition for young glass processors: The glasstec challenge
Trainees in their third year of apprenticeship will work under competitive conditions during the trade fair, creating various exhibits. In addition to the quality of the exhibits, the timing, preparation and use of protective equipment and work clothing will also be assessed.
