4TH FOOD PROCESSING & PACKAGING EXPOSYUM ANNOUNCED

Messe Düsseldorf will organize the fourth Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum (FPPE) from December 5 – 7, 2016 at the Kanyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi, Kenya. With this unique combination of symposium and exhibition, Messe Düsseldorf and its partner Starling Expo Ltd. will offer an event specifically geared towards the needs of visitors and exhibitors from the East African processing and packaging market.

As the organizer of interpack, the world’s leading trade fair for the packaging sector and related processing industries, Messe Düsseldorf uses its expertise to bring together supply and demand in Kenya and East Africa. This opens up enormous market opportunities for companies while helping local food producers gain access to urgently needed technologies which can play a key role in developing the local economy and decreasing food losses in the region.

The product categories at FPPE 2016 cover the entire food value creation chain – from seeds to food processing and packaging to logistics: packaging machinery, materials and production, automation, food, farming, analysis technology, quality control, refrigeration/air-conditioning and transportation/storage as well as used machinery. The majority if the visitors will be representatives from food, beverage, confectionery and bakery processing companies.

Due to faulty processing and packaging as well as inadequate infrastructure, East Africa is a region where large quantities of locally produced food are lost before it reaches the consumer. The SAVE FOOD initiative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Messe Düsseldorf will therefore a prominent feature at the FPPE conference.

With a growing middle class, rising standard of living, growing urbanization, young demographic structure and increasing imports, East African is an attractive market for foreign companies. The Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum 2016 provides an ideal platform to enter this lucrative market.
