On March 10 and 11, 2018 the make-up artist design show (mads) will again be the meeting platform for over 4,000 international make-up artists from theaters, opera houses, TV studios, musical and film productions. Held at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, trade visitors can look forward to a first class program along with an attractive combination of practical tips, further training and trade fair in an exclusive trade only atmosphere. “It is this professional and communicative atmosphere that creates the ideal condition for networking among colleagues and making new contacts that the participants appreciate so much,” said Michael Degen, Executive Director of Messe Düsseldorf (organizer of mads).

High-Caliber Expert Program
mads is unique with its combination of information, continuous education and artistic inspiration. The stars in this industry will demonstrate their skills on stage providing valuable tips for everyday work. Over the past few years guests included the Oscar winners Mark Coulier, Michael Westmore and Michele Burke. At the Creative Workshop new techniques will be shown in detail and with a focus on practitioners. “In Düsseldorf we find the most important stage make-up artists from Germany and Europe represented. mads has developed into a communicative meeting point. The mixture of exclusive products and continuous education plus hands-on demonstrations by top stars is exceptional,” commented Michael Degen.

Exclusive Atmosphere
At the stands of the 75 exhibitors and brands visitors will find everything needed for professional beauty make-up, special effects, plastic molding of faces and bodies as well as materials for making masks, wigs and hairpieces. Special tools and accessories round off the range.

In previous years both exhibitors and visitors praised not only the professional ancillary program events but also the high quality standards. “The image of this event is extremely good. The sector highly praises mads and enjoys the family-like setting as much as the excellent networking conditions,” said Wolfram Langer, CEO of the Berlin-based company KRYOLAN and co-initiator of the trade fair.

Awards and Talent Scouting
For next year’s German Championships for Trainee Make-Up Artists, participants will have to create a mask inspired by the theme “Monster”.

At the “Golden Mask” award ceremony one national and one international winner will be honored for their special commitment, artistically important masks or exceptional life-time achievements./p>
