International stage make-up artists from theaters, opera houses, TV studios, musical and movie productions will meet at the make-up artist design show 2016 (mads) from March 5 – 6, 2016 at the fairgrounds Düsseldorf, Germany. As the leading international platform for the sector, this event will again feature a varied and creative program along with that proven combination of continuous education, practical experience and trade fair. “Visitors can look forward to presentations by the big stars in this industry at the lecture forum, stars who will provide valuable tips for everyday work. Furthermore, new technologies will be demonstrated in detail and taught hand-on,” commented mads 2016 Director Helmut Winkler. Exhibitors and performers appreciate the high quality of visitors along with the communicative atmosphere and family-like setting at the event.

Information, Continuous Education and Artistic Inspiration
A trademark of mads is the unique combination of information, continuous education and artistic inspiration. The quality of the technical program is unrivaled in Europe. The best stage make-up artists in the industry will be in Düsseldorf, sharing their work skills from movie, TV and theater productions at the lecture forum. After including Oscar winners such as Michael Westmore and Michele Burke in the last years, Stuart Bray from the UK, Birgit Mörtl from Austria, Love Larson from Sweden as well as Dennis Penkov from Germany have confirmed their participation in 2016.

Under expert guidance at three daily workshops, trade visitors will be able to try out techniques and materials at the Creative Workshop. The program will include high-speed drawing, image processing as well as wounds and injuries. The Special Exhibition will present works by British make-up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis on the theme Art & Make-up.

75 Exhibitors and Brands
At the stands of the 75 exhibitors and brands, attendees will find everything needed for professional make-up, special effects, 3D works for shaping faces and bodies as well as material for making masks, wigs and hairpieces, special tools, appliances and accessories.

Trainee Championship and “Golden Mask”
For the sixth time, talented trainees will participate in the German Championship for Theatrical Make-Up Artists, creating a high-impact mask inspired by the “Extra-Terrestrial” theme.

The Kryolan “Golden Mask” award presented at mads will honor one national and one international personality for their special commitment, key contribution to make-up artistry or exceptional life’s work./p>
