MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2017: PLATFORM TO THRIVING MARKET
From September 6 - 8, 2017, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok will again host MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND, 8th International Exhibition on Hospital, Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, Medical & Rehabilitation Equipment & Supplies. Since its start in 2003, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND has developed into Thailand’s No. 1 medical and health care event. Focused on equipment and supplies for the hospital, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation sectors, the trade fair is the ideal platform for the dynamic marketplace of Thailand and Southeast Asia.
Organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2017 is part of the company’s “World of Medica” portfolio and has the support of the company’s worldwide representative network. MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2017 is also supported by some of Thailand and the region’s most prominent government and industry trade associations, including Thailand’s Ministry of Health and the Asian Hospital Federation. Messe Düsseldorf is renowned as the organizer of MEDICA – the leading international trade fair for the medical industry held annually in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Medical Fair Thailand 2017 will be held at an opportune time. The medical device industry in Thailand is thriving. Current U.S. Department of Commerce reports indicate that Thailand's medical device market is worth more than US$ 1 billion and is set to expand at around 9% annually for the next several years. More than 60% of Thailand's medical devices are imported, mainly from the U.S. (comprising nearly a third of imports).
Medical Fair Thailand 2017 will emphasize connected healthcare and geriatric rehabilitative care across two dedicated platforms and numerous concurrently held events. The Connected Healthcare platform will demonstrate innovative digital solutions such as wearables to help understanding patients’ health status, improve care and deliver greater results. The third edition of the Advanced Rehab Technology Conference (ARTeC) will focus on innovative and effective technological solutions to decrease mobility related disabilities. Co-organized by the Thai Rehabilitation Medicine Association, the Royal College of Physiatrists of Thailand and Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the academic conference will welcome international key leaders to share insights on robotic transfer systems, robotic arm training devices, robotic gait training and wearable devices.
In 2017, the trade show will again incorporate three special segments in the areas of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) in Healthcare, Biomedical Sciences & Pharmaceuticals and Rehabilitation Care, including a series of conferences, discussion forums, and workshops.
When last held in 2015, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND recorded a 13% increase in visitor attendance: 7,226 visitors from 59 countries took part to see the products presented by 600 exhibitors from 42 nations. The trade show featured 15 country pavilions and country groups from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and for the first time from the U.S., Italy and Turkey. A total of 34% of all visitors came from overseas, mainly from ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam, as well as other Asian countries including China, India, Japan and Taiwan. For the 2017 staging, the organizers expect 700 exhibitors, 17 country pavilions and 8,500 trade visitors to take part.
