MESSE DÜSSELDORF COMBINES GLOBAL MEDICAL TRADE FAIR COMPETENCE FOR “WORLD OF MEDICA”

Messe Düsseldorf combines its competence organizing top events for the healthcare industry worldwide. Effective immediately, one team will be responsible for the global strategy and marketing measures for all domestic and foreign medical trade fairs. Until now, domestic and foreign business was separated into different teams. The label “World of Medica” includes the complete event portfolio.

As global portfolio director, Horst Giesen, who until recently has been the director of MEDICA, REHACARE and COMPAMED, will lead the team operating on a worldwide level for the “World of MEDICA” events. Christian Grosser (MEDICA + COMPAMED) and Hannes Niemann (REHACARE) will act as deputy directors.

For decades, medical trade fairs have been a centerpiece of Messe Düsseldorf’s event program. The Düsseldorf (Germany) location annually hosts MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair, REHACARE, the most important specialist trade fair for rehabilitation and care worldwide and COMPAMED, the leading international trade fair for the medical manufacturing supplier market.

The “World of MEDICA” events of the Messe Düsseldorf Group abroad include MEDICAL FAIR INDIA (Mumbai, New Delhi), MEDICAL FAIR ASIA (Singapore) and MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND (Bangkok) as well as other partner events in Russia, China, the U.S. and Brazil. 71 foreign representative offices for 132 countries make up the worldwide presence of the Messe Düsseldorf Group. With 12 participations and subsidiaries, trade fair concepts “Made in Düsseldorf” are exported into important future global markets.

“The leading trade fairs held at the Düsseldorf location, such as the MEDICA for example, are aligned with target groups at the top decision-making level, further expanded topically and continuously marketed at a global level. Furthermore, the expansion of the medical trade fair portfolio outside of Germany will contribute to offer companies in the healthcare industry business and communication platforms in other lucrative continental markets,” commented Joachim Schäfer, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf.

MEDICA 2016 will be held from November 14 – 17, 2017 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany (in 2015: almost 5,000 exhibitors from 70 countries). Held concurrently will be COMPAMED 2016 (in 2015: 779 exhibitors from 37 countries). At their last staging in 2015, both events attracted 130,000 specialist visitors from around 120 nations.
