SUCCESSFUL PREMIERE OF METAL MIDDLE EAST IN DUBAI

The first staging of Metal Middle East, International Trade Fair for Metallurgical Technology, Thermo Process Technology, Foundry Machinery and Metal Working Tools, recently took place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Held concurrently with the 5th Tube Arabia and the 2nd Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting trade fairs, the three events attracted 176 exhibitors from 21 countries and 3,541 trade visitors.

The three trade shows are a joint project of Messe Düsseldorf, Messe Essen and Al Fajer Information & Services. Messe Düsseldorf is renowned as the organizer of the leading international trade fairs Tube, GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Together, Metal Middle East, Tube Arabia and Arab Essen Welding & Cutting provided an international contact and business platform for the Middle East and the United Arab Emirates markets. Offering synergies for the attendees, the three events presented comprehensive solutions for the requirements of this growing regional market, showcasing the latest innovations in foundry, metalworking and thermal process engineering.

The United Arab Emirates and the Middle East are highly attractive markets for companies and investors alike. Due to infrastructure improvement projects in the Gulf region, demand for metal products is steadily increasing. These projects include the expansion of the metro networks, multibillion-dollar road construction projects, upgrading of bridges as well as capacity expansions of harbors and airports. Set against the background of EXPO 2020 in Dubai, projects in local transport and air traffic are of special importance. Overall, the Gulf states are investing US$ 330 billion in the development of regional airports. All these projects in addition to a booming gas and oil industry are resulting in a large increase in demand for manufacturers of steel products, tubes and welding technology.

Metal Middle East 2015 was supported by VDMA’s (German Engineering Federation) Foundry Machinery, Metallurgical Plants and Rolling Mill specialist associations as well as by the Thermo Process Engineering specialist association CECOF (the European Committee of Industrial Furnace and Heating Equipment Associations), CEMAFON (the European Foundry Equipment Suppliers Association) and EUnited Metallurgy (the European Metallurgical Equipment Association). Tube Arabia had the support of the International Tube Association (ITA) while Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting was supported by DVS (the German Welding Society).

The next staging of Metal Middle East, Tube Arabia and Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting is scheduled for spring 2017 in Dubai.
