NEFTEGAZ CONFIRMED AS KEY EVENT FOR RUSSIAN OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

The recent staging of NEFTEGAZ 2016, International Exhibition for Oil and Gas Industries, confirmed its status as the key meeting point for experts from all over the world. On four busy trade fair days, about 25,330 trade visitors came to Moscow to view the latest equipment and technologies for the sector presented by 700 exhibitors from 29 nations.

For the first time, the National Oil & Gas Forum organized by the Energy Ministry of the Russian Federation (since 2014) was held as the part of the 16th NEFTEGAZ. This concurrent staging of exhibition and forum generated important synergies for the attendees. A joint platform for the entire cross-section of the national industry, all major energy companies and buyers is as important as ever to prompt the required investment, especially considering the currently difficult economic framework in Russia.

NEFTEGAZ is the only exhibition in the industry organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation which has already assured its support for the next event – a special recognition for the organizers Messe Düsseldorf, OOO Messe Düsseldorf Moskau and ZAO EXPOCENTR. Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, stated: “The Russian Ministry of Energy regards the NEFTEGAZ international exhibition as a key industry event – a booster for innovation-driven development in this country’s fuel and energy sector. The event is becoming even more prominent now that Russia’s sustainable economic growth largely depends on how the oil and gas industry copes with new challenges it faces.” For these reasons, NEFTEGAZ will change from a two-year to a yearly cycle starting 2017, adapting to the annual event cycle and dates of the Oil and Gas Forum in April.

The main exhibit categories included machinery, equipment, plants and the latest technologies for exploiting oil and gas deposits as well as state-of-the-art systems for environmental monitoring. At NEFTEGAZ 2016, the most important national companies in the industry including Gazprom, Gazprom Avtomatizatsiya, Tatneft, Transneft and TMK met with such key international exhibitors as R&B Industrial Supply Company, National Oilwell Varco, Compressor Controls Corporation, Honeywell Process Solutions, Jumo, Kanex-Krohne, China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation, Sinopec, Schneider Electric and ABB.

Exhibitors were pleased with the results of the trade show and emphasized the visitors’ high qualification and strong interest in innovations. Many new contacts were made and business deals concluded. “I am very satisfied with the exhibition. We had arranged many appointments in the run-up to the event, which is why we had sufficient negotiations at the stand. Messe Düsseldorf looked after us very well and we are already now planning to participate in the next exhibition,” commented Andree Fischer of MTU Friedrichshafen. Anna Jermakova of Gazprom Elektrogaz agreed: “This year we had an attractive, spacious stand which was a clearly attracting visitors’ attention. Worth mentioning is also the great organization of NEFTEGAZ 2016 as well as the large number of industry experts who visited our stand.”

NEFTEGZ 2016 again featured a “German Pavilion” organized by Messe Düsseldorf with 39 companies on over 6,250 square feet of exhibit space. “A good result, considering there was no official participation organized by the German Ministry of Economy and Energy on account of the economic sanctions,” said Peter Schmitz, Head of International Trade Fair Business/Official Participations at Messe Düsseldorf. In addition to Germany, China also took part with a national pavilion. China also accounted for the largest group of international exhibitors. The exhibits were supported by a high-caliber ancillary program, consisting of seminars, panel discussions, a Russian-Chinese summit as well as the concurrently held Oil & Gas Forum for Technologies for Oil and Gas Production.

The next staging of NEFTEGAZ is scheduled for April 17 – 20, 2017 in Moscow, Russia.
