INTERNATIONAL PACKTECH INDIA RETURNS IN 2016

From December 15 - 17, 2016, International Packtech India, 9th International Exhibition and Conference for Processing, Packaging and Printing, will return to the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Center in Mumbai. Online exhibitor applications will be available end of 2015 at www.packtech-india.com. The drink technology India 2016 trade fair will be held concurrently. In four halls, over 200 exhibitors will present products and solutions for the international packaging, package printing, processing, food and beverage industries.

The exhibitors and visitors at these two events will benefit from the expertise of two of the world´s leading trade fair organizers: Messe Düsseldorf organizes interpack, the leading international trade fair for processing and packaging in Düsseldorf while Messe München manages drinktec. Like these parent events in Germany, International PackTech India and drink technology India will cover the entire process chain in their respective sectors but specially tailored to the Indian market. Both trade fairs target top and middle management personnel as well as technical experts in production and R&D.

This trade-fair duo is the largest event on the subcontinent addressing the entire spectrum of the packaging, package printing, processing, beverage, food and liquid food industries. Exhibit categories will include food processing, packaging machinery and devices, machinery and equipment for the production, converting, processing and printing of packaging materials as well as automation technolgy, storage and logisitics equipment.

When last held in 2014, International Packtech India and drink technology India attracted 226 international exhibitors from countries such as China, Germany, India, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the U.S. and a record 10,250 visitors – a 37% increase compared to the previous staging.

The dynamic and demand-orientated Indian market provides enormous business opportunities for packaging intensive industries such as pharma, food, drinks, retail and fast moving consumer goods. Consistent and comparatively high growth figures for the economy, rising incomes, an expanding, high-spending middle class, a growing young population, increasing urbanization and widespread modern retail concepts are all factors that will boost this industry. Currently, India’s per capita consumption of packaging is only 4.3 kg while developing countries like China and Taiwan show about 6 kg and 19 kg respectively. The rapid urbanization and the expected huge growth of the Indian middle class from 50 million to 583 million by 2025 will extremely increase the overall consumption of packed products. India’s packaging industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.3% during the next four to five years to become the fourth largest global market, with sales of $ 42.7 billion.
