TUBE SOUTHEAST ASIA 2009 RETURNS TO BANGKOK

From October 13 – 15, 2009, Tube Southeast ASIA - International Tube & Pipe Trade Fair for Southeast Asia - will be held in Bangkok for the second time. The event will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, with the International Tube Association (ITA) as the industry partner. Messe Düsseldorf Asia is the subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, renowned as the organizer of the leading international tube and pipe trade fair - Tube Düsseldorf.

Exhibitors at Tube Southeast ASIA 2009 will showcase state-of-the-art tube and pipe manufacturing and processing machinery, tool making machinery, iron and steel tubes, stainless and non-ferrous tubes as well as test engineering, control and measuring technology and used machinery.

Southeast Asia continues to demonstrate economic growth with Vietnam leading with 8.5% increase in 2007 and positive projections for 2008 and 2009. Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines all record strong growth and predictions for the next years are optimistic. The automotive industry in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia becomes increasingly important as an end user of tube and pipe products. In 2007, Thailand manufactured close to 1.3 million vehicles and is expected to reach 2 million by 2012. Indonesia has recently emerged as an export center for multi-purpose vehicles and local production of parts and components is increasing. In addition, Thailand and Indonesia are planning several gas pipeline projects (such as the South Sumatra to Batam gas pipeline) while Vietnam invests heavily in petrochemical and petroleum refining by building three oil refineries.

At the first staging of Tube Southeast ASIA (together with wire Southeast ASIA, International Wire & Cable Trade Fair for Southeast Asia) in Bangkok in 2007, 7,038 trade visitors from more than 60 countries and 381 exhibitors from 30 nations took part in both events.

In 2009, wire Southeast ASIA will again be held concurrently with Tube Southeast ASIA.
