The re-launch of the Düsseldorf Womenswear Trade Fair cpd was a success: according to preliminary assessments, the 915 Spring/Summer 2010 collections on display attracted over 21,000 trade visitors from 40 countries - 2,300 of whom primarily attended because of BODYLOOK, the bodywear trade fair held concurrently (an attendance comparison with the previous event is not possible due to the reorganization of the Düsseldorf Fashion Fairs). In addition to the Gallery and Concept 11 segments for high-end lifestyle-driven brands, the new areas Impulse (in cooperation with the munichfashion.company), Italian Suite (in cooperation with Ente Moda Italia) as well as the redesigned area Decorate for high-quality accessories were also received very well. cpd and BODYLOOK were recently held at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Two thirds of the visitors at cpd and BODYLOOK 2009 were store owners or managers. Almost every third visitor came from outside of Germany, with an increase recorded in the number of buyers from the Netherlands and other Benelux countries. Other strongly represented countries included Switzerland, Great Britain, Spain and France. According to a survey, nearly half the buyers at both trade fairs intended to place orders at the show and 80% rated the trade fairs as positive.

“As announced, cpd featured a more modern look and feel. Everyone who took part at the event could see where cpd is headed. The first step has been taken. We have many more ideas in store for cpd, which we will gradually put into practice in order to again make it a sophisticated platform for quality collections from various segments,” commented Mirjam Dietz, Executive Director Fashion of the Igedo Company, the organizer of cpd and BODYLOOK.

“Despite the current business climate we have reached the core target group of our exhibitors with this event. The quality of visitors was right and I am confident that we will take a further step forward in February,” added Igedo CEO Philipp Kronen. “We will bring exciting collections here thereby enhancing the cpd fashion statement even further. After this event conditions are now favorable. And this is the most important thing.”

The next cpd will be held from February 7 - 9, 2010 while BODYLOOK will be staged from July 25 - 27, 2010 – and a “Sectoral Meeting BODYLOOK” will be held on February 8, 2010 concurrently with cpd.
