April 2009 GLASSTEC 2010 HELD ON FOUR DAYS AND WITH SOLARPEQ 2010glasstec 2010, Trade Fair for Glass Production – Processing - Products, will offer exhibitors and visitors a comprehensively revised structure. With the new title "Glass Production – Processing – Products“, glasstec will convey that it is the only international trade fair reflecting the entire value chain of glass in all its facets. As part of the new concept and as a reaction to exhibitor requests, glasstec will also take place on only four days instead of five (Tuesday, September 28 to Friday, October 1; not on Saturday). As a reflection of the glass market, glasstec 2010 will also be catering to a segment that has recently experienced a particularly dynamic development: solar production technology. “solarpeq – International Trade Fair For Solar Production Equipment“ will be held concurrently with glasstec and is geared towards companies offering process engineering/production equipment for thin film and crystalline photovoltaics – be it machinery and equipment for the production of solar applications or suppliers of components/raw materials. glasstec and solarpeq complement each other in terms of content and will be held at the same time at the same venue – glasstec in halls 7 – 13 and 15 – 17 and solarpeq in hall 14 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. One key distinction: visitors will still find solar applications such as building-integrated photovoltaics at glasstec. “Over the last two to three years we have seen many exhibitors at glasstec founding their own corporate divisions for solar production technology. With solarpeq we now offer these customers a dedicated platform and all other companies in this segment the unique opportunity to benefit from the established international structures at glasstec,“ explained Joachim Schäfer, Managing Director at Messe Düsseldorf. The solar theme was already an important issue at glasstec 2008 and over 150 exhibitors participated in this segment. The hall concept at glasstec 2010 will not only be extended with the launch of solarpeq but also structured more clearly. In 2010, the glazier trade and the special glass art show will be in the glazier trade center in Halls 7.0 to 7.2. Complementing the range offered by exhibitors will be the “Skilled Tradesmen Day“ with a supporting program specially tailored to their needs. Exhibitor applications for glasstec and solarpeq 2010 will be available beginning of May 2009.
