September 2006 FOOD TRADE FAIR TRIO STRENGTHENED ITS POSITION AS MOST IMPORTANT EUROPEAN MEETING POINTWith 965 exhibitors and 34,000 international trade visitors (compared to 31,900 in 2004), the recent staging of InterMopro 2006 – International Trade Fair for Dairy Products, InterCool 2006 – International Trade Fair for Frozen Foods and Refrigeration Technology, and InterMeat 2006 – International Trade Fair for Meats, Cold Meats and Sausage, was a great success and confirmed the trade fairs’ position as the most important European meeting point for these industries. “Now it is evident: our concept has paid off. Staging InterMopro/InterCool/InterMeat concurrently with hogatec (International Trade Fair for Hotels, Gastronomy and Catering) offers our customers effective synergies. In addition to the 30,000 visitors at the food trade fair trio, around 4,000 hogatec visitors used this opportunity to gather information about the latest trends and ranges in the food industry. Those who were not in Düsseldorf have missed out on a major market opportunity,” commented Wilhelm Niedergöker, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. Felix Ahlers, Board Member at Frosta AG, concurred: “We had a very good and active trade fair. All major trade and catering customers came to our stand. This was particularly important to us because we were able to successfully present our new gourmet product lines at this outstanding platform.” According to a visitor survey, over 60% of the visitors held management positions and 40% came from the top management. “This was the best InterCool ever, particularly in terms of the visitor quality. The retail trade used the Sunday to visit our stand,” explained Annegret Kettau-Keck, Sales Management for Pickenpack – Hussmann & Hahn Seafood GmbH. Participation from international trade visitors increased again, particularly from the new Eastern European markets. René Maillard, Director of the Belgian Meat Office, stated: “The German pork market is important for the business in Europe. And this makes InterMeat an absolute must.” Johann Burger, Managing Director of the cheese dairy Bergader Privatkäserei GmbH, added: ”The trade fair went very well. Especially positive for us was the great interest from abroad.” A total of 95% of the visitors and the majority of the exhibitors were pleased with their participation in InterMopro/InterCool/InterMeat 2006. Being held concurrently with hogatec 2006 generated numerous synergies. All together, the 1,500 exhibitors at these four trade fairs offered a comprehensive range of products in one location and the successful combination of eating out, gastronomy and food retail convinced the experts. InterMopro/InterCool/InterMeat will be held again from September 28 – October 1, 2008 in Düsseldorf, Germany – concurrently with hogatec.
