MESSE DÜSSELDORF TO ORGANIZE LEADING PLASTICS AND RUBBER TRADE FAIRS WORLDWIDE

In addition to K 2007, 17th International Trade Fair for Plastics + Rubber, Messe Düsseldorf will organize leading events for the plastics and rubber industries around the globe in the coming months and years. The No. 1 event K will take place from October 24 – 31, 2007 in Düsseldorf, Germany. With it’s expertise of the K trade fair, Messe Düsseldorf has successfully established other key regional trade fairs in other countries that have earned a reputation as important information and order platforms.

The need for one leading trade fair for the Indochina plastics and rubber industries has resulted in the collaboration of three important organizations - Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the Thai Plastics Industries Association and the Federation of Thai Industries - to jointly organize the premiere staging of TIPREX 2006, Thai International Plastics & Rubber Exhibition for the Indochina Region. The event will take place from September 14 – 17, 2006 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center. Thailand is the largest processing nation in the ASEAN region and the primary exporter of plastics and rubber products to its neighboring countries Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

Messe Düsseldorf’s exclusive partnership with Arabplast, Arab International Plastics & Rubber Industry Trade Show, dates back to 1994. The next staging of Arabplast will take place in Dubai, UAE from January 13 – 16, 2007. Messe Düsseldorf is in charge of exhibitor promotion and services for companies from Europe, North and South America, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Organized by Al Fajer Information & Services, Arabplast’s last staging in 2005 confirmed it as the leading platform for the plastics and rubber industry in the Middle East. Almost 10,000 visitors and 300 exhibitors from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, India, Korea, Taiwan and UAE took part. The trade fair’s record performance indicates the growing potential of rubber and plastics in the Middle East and the industry’s increasingly important contribution to the region’s economic development. The Middle East is currently experiencing a rise in production capacities and in consumption, which experts predict will continue.

On the Russian market, Messe Düsseldorf is represented by INTERPLASTICA, International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, which took place for the first time in 1988. The next staging is schedules for January 30 – January 2, 2007 in Moscow. Russia has become one of the most important export markets for European producers. The consumption of plastics and rubber over the past decade has continued to rise – a trend that is anticipated to continue with the current economic growth. As quality demands have increased, so has the pressure on the Russian processing industry to produce high-grade components that require first-class equipment. When INTERPLASTICA last took place in 2005, more than 25,000 experts from throughout the Russian Federation and neighboring countries came to see the newest technologies presented by 450 exhibitors on over 100,000 square feet of net exhibit space.

The next M-PLAS, International Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair for Malaysia>, will be staged in Kuala Lumpur from March 27 – April 1, 2007. Messe Düsseldorf’s subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf Asia is the organizer of this event. In 2003, M-PLAS had strong participation from both local and international companies, making it an important flagship event for the plastic and rubber industries in Malaysia. A total of 156 exhibiting companies from 16 countries took part in the event to showcase the latest advancement in plastic and rubber machinery, products, solutions and services to 4,916 trade visitors.

In view of the significant role of the Chinese market, Messe Düsseldorf has partnered with the trade fair organizer Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. of the Adsale Group headquartered in Hong Kong. For many years, Messe Düsseldorf has been organizing the official German participation in the Adsale event CHINAPLAS, International Exhibition for Plastics and Rubber Industries. This partnership was recently officially signed, making Messe Düsseldorf’s Chinese subsidiary the co-organizer of CHINAPLAS. The event takes place every two years in Shanghai but is held in other cities in the alternate years. In 2007, the trade fair’s venue will be in Guangzhou – from May 21 – 24. Over 1,000 exhibitors and 60,000 visitors are expected to attend CHINAPLAS 2007.

Following a busy 2007, Messe Düsseldorf already has three plastics trade fairs on the schedule for the following years: ASEANPLAS 2008 in conjunction with ASEANRUBBER 2008 in Singapore and PLASTINDIA 2009 in New Delhi.

The highlight of the 2007 trade fair calendar will be K in Düsseldorf. As the world’s leading trade fair for the industry, K is renowned for being the meeting place not only for the entire plastics and rubber industry but also for potential buyers from the key user sectors. Every three years, specialists in the fields of automotive engineering, packaging, electrical engineering, electronics and communications, construction, medical technology as well as aviation and the aerospace sector have the opportunity to get a unique overview of the latest plastic and rubber applications and future trends. Messe Düsseldorf is again expecting well over 2,500 exhibitors and more than 200,000 trade visitors to take part in K 2007.
