MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2010: PLATFORM FOR GROWING MARKET

As part of the international program of medical trade fairs organized by Messe Düsseldorf worldwide, MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 8th International Exhibition on Hospital, Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, Medical & Rehabilitation Equipment & Supplies, will return to the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Center from September 15 -17, 2010. The event will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, renowned as organizer of MEDICA - the world’s largest medical trade fair.  MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2010 will have the support of the Ministry of Health Singapore.

MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2010 will bring global healthcare equipment manufacturers and suppliers together with Asia’s growing medical and healthcare industry. Exhibitors will showcase the latest products, solutions and services for the hospital, medical, diagnostic, rehabilitation and pharmaceutical sectors.

The increasing demand for advanced health care service, the aging population, the mandate for cost efficient health care and the increase in medical tourism are driving factors for the growth of Asia’s medical and health care market. With the majority of the world’s population living in Asia, the United Nations expects Asia’s population in the 60+ age group to be over 100 million in 2050. In accordance with the aging population, Asia’s growing purchasing power will further boost the demand for superior health care equipment. The medical tourism market in Asia is anticipated to increase to $ 4.4 billion by 2012. Lower costs, quality treatment and shorter waiting periods attract patients from all over the world and Asia’s hospitals have to significantly invest in the latest technology to stay ahead of the competition.

A total of 6,011 visitors from 58 nations and 367 exhibitors from 33 countries took part in the last staging of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA in 2008. The trade fair featured country group exhibits from Australia, Austria, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Italy, South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Taiwan. The show recorded a 10% increase in visitor participation compared to the 2006 event.
