TUBOTECH 2009 CONFIRMED AS LARGEST TUBE AND PIPE TRADE FAIR IN SOUTH AMERICA

Over 16,500 visitors came to see the most up-to-date innovations for their industry at TUBOTECH 2009, 5th International Tube, Fittings and Components Fair, in Sao Paulo. Some 320 companies from 15 countries presented the latest in pipes, pipe making machinery, raw materials, measurement and control technology as well as process technology tools and test equipment.

A total of 41% of the TUBOTECH 2009 exhibitors were from countries other than Brazil. European exhibitors included companies from Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. Asia was represented by companies from China, India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

TUBOTECH is valued as the most important platform for the tube and pipe industry in Mercosur and offers international exhibitors a gateway to the lucrative South American market. The trade fair’s organizers Grupo CIPA (Brazil) and Messe Düsseldorf (Germany) unanimously spoke of an upswing in the market. This was also apparent in the halls, where countless high quality visitors met with renowned exhibitors. Especially Messe Düsseldorf’s worldwide contacts increased the international participation at TUBOTECH 2009. The company is the organizer of Tube Düsseldorf - the world’s leading trade fair for the tube and pipe industry - and is responsible for the TUBOTECH exhibitor acquisition and service in Europe, North America and Asia.

Both the International Tube Association (ITA) and the exhibitors were very pleased with the results of TUBOTECH 2009. Exhibitors praised the high quality of the visitors - all of the major companies in the industry had sent their experts to the trade fair, emphasizing the importance of participating even in a difficult economic climate. The majority of the exhibitors expect a good post-show business.

The visitors at TUBOTECH 2009 were from the following industries: foundry, electronics, electrical, chemical, furnace, non-ferrous metal, iron and steel as well as machinery suppliers for foundries and smelting works, suppliers of raw materials and consumables and manufacturers of refractory materials. Attendees took advantage of the synergies created by the concurrently held trade fairs Metaltech, Expobombas (pumps and accessories),Termotech, Techshow and Expovalvulas (valves).

TUBOTECH will again take place in Sao Paulo from October 4 - 6, 2011.
