March 2007 WIRE RUSSIA 2007 ALMOST FULLY BOOKEDThree months before the start of wire Russia 2007, International Wire and Cable Trade Fair, the exhibit space at the ZAO Expocentr in Moscow is almost fully booked. The amount of exhibit space at the show’s last staging in 2005 has already been reached and demand for space has increased compared to the 2005 event. The No. 1 event for the wire industry in Russia will be held from May 28 - 31, 2007. In addition to numerous Russian companies, suppliers from Germany, the U.S., Italy, Spain, France, Austria and Great Britain will present their products within country group exhibits. Representative suppliers from Korea and China have also reserved booth space. Russia is a promising market for companies in the wire and cable industry: the need for refurbishment and maintenance is nowhere as urgent as in Russia and the surrounding regions. About 44% of goods imported to Russia are machinery and equipment – and the trend is increasing.
