WIRE RUSSIA 2009 AN IMPRESSIVE SHOWCASE DESPITE DIFFICULT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS

Despite the difficult economic conditions, wire Russia 2009, International Wire and Cable Trade Fair, will have a similar turnout as in 2007: more than 200 exhibitors from 29 countries will present their products on some 43,000 square feet of exhibit space. As in the past, wire Russia 2009 will feature national group exhibits from Austria, China, France, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, the UK and the U.S. The event will be held from May 12 – 15, 2009 in Moscow and will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf and its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf Moscow OOO in cooperation with the All Russian Cable Scientific Research and Development Institute (VNIIKP).

The wire, cable and wire processing industry faces new challenges. To meet increasing demands placed on the products’ capabilities, machinery and equipment is called for that can be flexibly adapted to the most diverse specifications without compromising the consistently high product quality and environmental protection. At present, manufacturers of plant and machinery are clearly feeling the effects of the global economic slowdown, especially as about 60% of production is consumed by the automotive industry and its suppliers. Experts nevertheless consider the industry’s long-term prospects to be good, particularly as the pressure to innovate in many sectors and the need to expand infrastructure promise high order volumes. A considerable amount of money needs to be invested in the Russian electricity industry alone to carry out the urgently needed expansions to its grids.

In order to provide synergy effects for visitors and exhibitors, the trade fairs Metallurgy-Litmash, Tube Russia and Aluminium/Non-Ferrous 2009 will be staged concurrently with wire Russia. On almost 43,000 square feet of net exhibit space, about 300 exhibitors from 27 countries will represent the Russian and international metalworking and processing industry. The exhibits will include country group exhibits from Austria, China, Germany, Italy and the UK as well as individual exhibitors from Canada, Denmark, France, Korea, Taiwan and Turkey, among others.
