PROWINE CHINA 2014 TO FEATURE INDUSTRY SUMMIT, MASTER CLASS AND MUNDUS VINI TASTING ZONE

In addition to the international exhibits, ProWine China 2014 (November 12 - 14, 2014 at the SNIEC exhibition center in Shanghai) will offer a wide ranging supporting program with focus on wine education through the cooperation with three new partners. The organizers of the leading trade fair for wines and spirits in China consider wine education a key element to meet the industry’s needs and will make it a permanent feature of ProWine China.

ProWine China Education Initiative

Prof. Li Demei, a renowned Chinese oenologist and wine expert from the Beijing University of Agriculture, will host the first ProWine China Wine Industry Summit. Discussion topics will include “Investment & Cooperation with the Chinese Wine Industry” and “Market Trends – Online Wine Trade”. Prof. Li will appoint other top-notch wine experts, both national and international, to the speaker committee. Judy Chan, owner of China based Grace Vineyard - a perfect example of successful wine growing in China - already confirmed her participation in the conference. The summit will take place on November 13 and will be geared towards wine professionals interested in investing or cooperating in the Chinese wine industry. The participation is free of charge. Due to limited capacity, registration to iris@chinaallworld.com is required.

Another highlight of the ProWine Education Initiative is the cooperation of ProWine China and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). The WSET, one of the leading international wine and spirits education course program providers, will offer professional education seminars on all three show days. Unique among wine exhibitions in China, London based WSET has invited their professional wine educators from all over China and the UK to hold education sessions in the dedicated WSET Forum. “The WSET is delighted to work with ProWine China to emphasize the importance of wine and spirits education during the fair in November. We look forward to building upon the tasting activities we held last year by running a full schedule of master classes in a dedicated seminar room sponsored by ProWine China. WSET Certified Educators based in both China and our London headquarters will be delivering informative, interesting, and educational sessions, giving attendees the opportunity to taste wines,” stated Ian Harris, CEO of WSET. A detailed program and registration form for the WSET Forum will be available soon at www.prowinechina.com.

ProWine China 2014 will also welcome the Institute of Masters of Wine in China. Wine trade professionals will have the chance to gain an insight into the industry's most respected wine qualification during the Institute of Masters of Wine master class. “The Institute of Masters of Wine is pleased to be able to host this master class in China for the first time,” remarked Penny Richards, Executive Director at the Institute of Masters of Wine. “Although we have members in 26 different countries, we are always keen to attract new candidates to our study program. We are delighted ProWine China is giving us this opportunity to inspire people to think about starting the exciting journey to becoming a Master of Wine.” Details about the Institute of Masters of Wine master class will be available closer to the start of the trade fair at www.prowinechina.com.

MUNDUS VINI tasting zone

MUNDUS VINI is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in Europe. The International Wine Award was first held in 2001. Promoting quality and marketing of the submitted wines is the objective of this competition. MUNDUS VINI will bring 200 of the winning wines in 2014 to the tasting zone at ProWine China 2014 for visitors to enjoy. “The award-winning wines of MUNDUS VINI provide trade visitors at ProWine China with a compact, initial overview of the special qualities of the international wine market," said Christoph Meininger, Publisher of the Meininger publishing house.
