SUCCESSFUL FIRST STAGING OF SHANGHAI WORLD OF PACKAGING 2015

The premiere of swop – Shanghai World of Packaging 2015, recently closed successfully at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC): 751 companies showcased their products on more than 538,000 square feet of exhibit space to 22,626 visitors from all over the world. Many renowned domestic and overseas companies such as Multivac, Fawema, Hastamat, Kolbus, Aoki (Foshan), Yizumi, Morimatsu, Shenzhen Beauty Star Co., Ltd., Siemens, Horauf and Fuji took part.

The 4-day exhibition was organized by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd (MDS), Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. and the China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange (CCFDIE) with the support of worldwide packaging and industrial associations. swop 2015 consisted of four individual exhibitions: the International Packaging Material Production and Processing Exhibition (PacPro Asia), the International Food Processing and Packaging Exhibition (FoodPex), the International Bulk Packaging Technology and Equipment Exhibition (BulkPex) and the 20th edition of the China International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industry Exhibition (CHINA-PHARM). Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) is a subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, organizer of interpack - the No. 1 international trade fair for the packaging industry.

swop 2015 provided a one-stop sourcing platform for processing and packaging solutions with comprehensive coverage in the fields of food and beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and logistics. Exhibits such as in mold labeling, tracking system, packaging materials and products, food processing machinery, pharmaceutical processing machinery were on display.

In addition to the exhibits, ten seminars and conferences were held during swop 2015, focusing on current industry trends, industry upgrades and company developments. The well attended events included the FoodPex Seminar about improving food safety and reducing food waste through customized packaging solutions. The presentation of Ms. Dong Ying, R&D Associate Director of PepsiCo, dealt with “Health, Nutrition, Packaging – New Innovative Direction of PepsiCo” while other renowned speakers discussed the future of packaging. The “Business Matching Service” for overseas purchasers helped to bring buyers and suppliers together by setting up meetings in advance of the show.

The 2nd edition of swop – Shanghai World of Packaging will be held from November 7 -10, 2017 at SNIEC in Shanghai.
