Exploring Global Opportunities in Plastics

The Indian Plastics Industry keeps expanding; India's Per Capita GDP is set to double by 2020, making Plastindia arguably the most significant plastics related event that showcases the opportunities in developing nations and, therefore, the future of plastics.

To meet the demand, India will be in need of plastics products - particularly the agriculture, automotive, construction, food, pipes, electronics, consumer durables and healthcare sectors. Consequently, it will become one of the world's preferred processing hubs over the next few years and provide immense potential for equipment and raw material producers.

Since 2015, Plastindia’s home are the new trade show grounds in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It is part of the top five plastics and rubber trade shows around the world.

Key Facts:

  • India’s plastics processing industry will deploy more than 180,000 machines by 2020 - from the current 110,000 – to cater to booming demands
  • India has a surging, upwardly mobile, middle class of 400 million people; 60% of which is under 35 years of age
  • A productive and growing work force of 467 million people; expected to add 100 million more by 2020
